Oh Canada! Cunard is calling
Cunard is delighted to stop on Vancouver and the magnificent region of Alaska this summer and beyond, echoing the travel industry's joy at the news that Canadian authorities are once again accepting cruise ships.
Cunard returned to Alaska in 2019 to much pomp and excitement, and they're looking forward to their summer Alaska season on the Queen Elizabeth in 2022. The ship will once again travel through the Last Frontier's legendary waterways and scenery, including the blue hues of the massive Hubbard Glacier and Glacier Bay National Park, where guests are awestruck by some of the world's most beautiful tidewater glaciers.
On May 30, the ship will make a coastal transit from Los Angeles to Vancouver before sailing to Alaska on June 5, with seven and ten-day trips available through July. Queen Elizabeth will travel along the west coast at the end of the season, giving visitors the choice of joining the ship in San Francisco or Los Angeles, before continuing on through the Panama Canal to complete her Alaska trips this year. In 2023, Queen Elizabeth returns to Alaska with a new set of itineraries.
"Among the various options, Cunard's trademark trip offering, in conjunction with Alaska's untamed frontier, is truly captivating and unusual in many ways," says Jamie Paiko, vice president of Cunard North America's sales. "On ships of her size, travellers enjoy the line's signature experiences and amenities in a large ship environment, but with fewer passengers. We're also pleased to introduce our new 'Ice White Ball' with a 'Taste of Alaska' Gala dining menu this year."
Guests will also have access to world-class enrichment programmes led by acclaimed adventurers Kenton Cool, Sir Ranulph Fiennes, Felicity Aston, and Peter Hillary, as well as renowned Princess and Queens Grill Suite accommodations and dining, signature White Star Service, more time in port, and the ability to visit smaller regional destinations like Sitka and Haines.
